My dad is currently using my old pc which is a Dell Dimension E521. it has 3gb of ddr2 ram inside of it and I want to add another 1gb stick in it to max the board. (4x1gb) My question is will this ram be compatible with the other 3 sticks? http://www.amazon.com/Memory-Upgrade-Dimension-DDR2-667-PC2-5300/dp/B0033759RQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435619281&sr=8-1&keywords=dimension+e521+ram&pebp=1435619282506&perid=1D35HJM19A4MJ0R5A3YP I checked the bios and the speed of the ram is at 533mhz and I am pretty sure they are all the same brand/type of ram as I recall ordering 1gb separately off the Dell website long ago because it only came with 2gb originally. If this isn't compatible can someone please provide a link to a 1gb dd2 stick that would work? I realize this is a totally outdated post but any answers are appreciated. Thank you

Your best bet would be to buy a DDR2 stick also running at 533MHz, with the same voltage, and preferably the same CAS latency and timings.

But you really should make sure to buy a 533MHz stick, if the stick you want to buy has a higher frequency it will just run at a lowered one to match your existing RAM. Mixing different brands, or sticks could give you problems, it doesn't have to but there is a little chance it will.

These two might be an option.

One question though, why do you want to add 1GB of RAM?

I honestly should have done this a long time ago but I figure it might help performance a bit? I added my old video card in there too so he might be able to play some games and ddr2 ram is so cheap I figured why not. Is it even worth it? How would I find out the voltages?

You could use this popular tool: CPU-z

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

When installed/opened the voltages are listed under ''spd''

Can i ask what graphics card you installed?
