Windows will not boot without USB inserted

I got a product key from my University which saved me a lot of money that I would have spent on the cd. I turned a usb into a bootable usb with Windows 8 on it. The first set up went as planned. It downloaded windows, I entered all the necessary information and eventually ended up on the desktop.

When I was installing some drivers, I was prompted to restart. Unfortunately the computer does not boot to windows anymore. If I take the usb out, the screen shows the loading screen for a second before fading to black. If I leave it in, windows notifies me that there has been an error and prompts me to wipe the system and reinstall.

I've made sure to change the boot order in the bios so the SSD is first. I've also made sure that the os files are installed on the SSD and it is set up as the primary partition. I'm at a loss for what's causing this. Any help would be appreciated because right now because my new PC is basically dead in the water.

Here is my build if that helps at all: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/nYtFnQ

I tried that. I think I'm at 8 or 9 times. Every time I try to restart the computer without the usb, I get to the blank purple screen.

I only have one monitor and I was installing the drivers for my graphics card and motherboard via disk. I actually got it to boot without the usb, but as soon as I restarted my pc to finish the updates I was back to the blank screen. What's weird is that I made sure to test that the windows install was properly finished by restarting and shutting down multiple times and each time it booted up without issues. It wasn't until I put the disks in and started downloading drivers that the restart screwed everything up again.

I was able to fix it, and annoyingly enough it had nothing to do with windows or drivers. Basically my monitor was projecting a "ghost screen" so I just had to cycle through the 4 video modes until one stuck. It was such an easy fix and I'm pissed it took so long to figure out but there it is. Thanks for you help though!
