Hey guys! I recently go a new monitor. My new monitor has a resolution of 1920x1080, however my old monitor has a resolution of 1440x900. It's a pretty old monitor, Everything works fine, however I want to know if it's possible to show the taskbar on the 2nd monitor (The old one).

I'm using extended display if that matters.

Solution

Hmmm, I think that might be an AMD Catalyst problem. I know windows 7 fully supports extending displays and moving your taskbar to whichever side you want. I'm guessing your old monitor is connected via VGA? I don't think the programming cares, but that could also be it.

when I first got my new monitor I had to change the scaling options in the amd catalyst control center to 0%. So now on my second monitor (my old one) it doesn't show the task bar so I think it might be the scaling thing might be the problem. Is this a software problem or is my old monitor just not compatible.

Ok so I did a bit of research and figured out that with windows 7 you have to use a 3rd party software to do it. For anyone who wants their taskbar on their second monitor use the program called ultramon however I think it does have the volum, ethernet/internet and hidden icons, date and time and that desktop button. You can still right click the taskbar and click show desktop instead of using the original button.
