I'd go the Z97-A, have done 10 builds on them now, and they've taken everything I've thrown at them, great mobo

Hard to say. The asus might be slightly better quality, has 4 true digital power phases with a doubler while the extreme 6 has 6 analog/hybrid power phases with a doubler. Digital power phases being preferred to analog/hybrid. Personally I prefer gigabyte and asus to asrock and msi.

ASUS Z97-A could be one of the best motherboards in existence today, but the Extreme 6 is nice too and will have a ton of extra features that the Asus A does not have. If you need all of the extra stuff (I never need it personally) go with the Extreme 6. For build quality and reputation I agree with the above statement. Asus and Gigabyte all day everyday.
