I'm curious as to whether or not I need to buy a new PSU. I currently have a 500 watt PSU and I just recently ordered these items for my new rig:

Asus a88x-pro fm2+ motherboard
Amd a10-7700k kaveri fm2+ CPU
Mushkin enhanced eco 2 120 GB SSD
Rosewill Thor v2 case (3 230mm fans one with lighting and 1 140mm fan, and a media hub that also has 2 usb 2.0, 2 usb 3.0, audio ports, 1 e-sata port, and 2 fan control along with lighting for there logo)
G Skill Ripjaws X series 8 GB DDR3 ram (2x4GB)
Geforce 9800 GT 1 GB GPU (had it for a while)

And the keyboard and mouse i have both have lighting.

Thanks in advanced.

Ok thank you. My next question is, if I wanted to upgrade my gpu to lets say an R9 390 or 390x (just single no crossfire and no overclock everything stock) would my current PSU, PSUPC Power and Cooling Silencer PPCS500 500W ATX12V / EPS12V be able to handle the power the GPU requires? Or would it be best to upgrade the PSU to 600W or more?

No. Its +12V rail capacity is insufficient to power a system with either the Radeon R9 390X or the Radeon R9 390.

You'd be better off getting a 750W PSU, as AMD suggests, if you're planning on getting either one of those graphics cards.
