Hello everyone

I was thinking to upgrade my pc and i thought to buy Fx 6300 which is same 6 core as my current one Phenom II x6 1055t whats the difference and should i buy fx or stick to my phenom processor??

My system
Phenom II x6 1055t 2.8ghz/3.2ghz
Asus M5A78L-M/Usb3 Am3+
Corsair Vengeance 8gb(4gbx2) 1600mhz
Asus Direct CU II gtx 960
Antec Vp450p 450w psu
Cooler master Hyper 212x

Thanks

Solution
Try overclocking the phenom, that's what i would do. Would suggest going to an 8320 and overclock it to 8350+ speeds. The only thing i would worry about is how your 450w psu handles all that load. Its an ok psu, but its still only 450w.

So should i buy fx 6300 or not? I cant overclock my phenom processor because no room for overclocking with my psu. And my existing ram(corsair vengeance) will work with fx 6300 if i buy it?

The ram is fine. I would really advice you to try to spring another 15 $ to get the FX 8300. It's not that much more expensive and you'd get the much better deal, consider the FX 8300 is the best bang for the buck on the market currently.

as others have said, look at the 8320, its normally a similar price to the 6300 and uses the same power. The bboard says it supports up to 140w in the specs. Even an 8350 is a 125w part so there should be no issue, even with some slight overclocking.
