Hello people , i have a gtx 980 card that i purchased 2 months ago and im thinking to get one more for a sli setup but as we know gtx 980 TI has come out , should i try to sell my gtx 980 to get a gtx 980 TI or should i get one more gtx 980 ? I dont want to sell it for a low price since i got it only 2 months ago but i heard really nice things about the TI , would be happy to hear some opinions about this , is gtx 980 SLI enough for 4k/1440P gaming ? is gtx 980 TI enough for 4k/1440p gaming ? Can someone who has a similar setup tell me about his experience with some games giving names/fps and which graphic settings he ran on ? , sorry for my not so good english..

GTX970 is only 10-20% slower than GTX980 nut costs almost half of GTX980 and this makes GTX980 not to be the best buy.
If you have ti already, GTX980I is not bad.
Going SLI is quite nice, it should defeat GTX980Ti.
nVidia plans to reduce the price of the GPUs (GTX980, GTX980Ti, etc.) to hold competition with AMD, I would wait until the discount really happens before getting the second GTX980.

1. Yes, GTX980 sli is plenty for 1440P gaming. 4k also.
But... you need a sli capable motherboard and a 750w psu.

2. GTX980sli will win synthetic fps benchmarks. But, that comes with possible side effects such as stuttering and screen tearing. Not to mention that some games do not support dual gpus.

3. On ebay, GTX980 cards are selling for about $400 used.

4. I Am running a GTX980ti SC on a 4k monitor and get a steady 60 fps on my games.
I am a happy camper there. If your games are fast action twitch type games, then that might be different for you.

5. I think if a single GTX980ti will do your job, I would sell your GTX980 and replace it with the single stronger card.
You will be out of pocket net $250 instead of $400 for a second GTX980.
