GeForce Gtx 745 4gb ddr3 or Amd Radeon hd r9 270 2gb gddr5?

Which one would be better for gaming? The Radeon costs $150 more, but I heard not all PC games work well with AMD cards. These are the only two cards I have to choose from, so no other suggestions please.

Ok my Asus 6850 card stopped working properly and I am looking to replace it. Here are my specs

AMD FX8320
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Asus M5A97 R2.0
G.Skill Ripjaws X series 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3-1600
Antec three hundred case and Antec EA650 power supply

I was looking at these 2 boards both are the same price with a rebate. Which would be better or do you recommend another card for my system.

Did you buy the 8700 with the Radeon and are you happy with your purchase? Am helping my son buy an 8700 and we have the same question as you. I don't want to make a mistake as it's taken forever for him to earn enough money to buy this. He plays minecraft but also does quite a bit of graphics with blender, adobe, etc. If you see this message can you let me know if it worked out for you?
