my £1000 build, is it good or bad? Recommended changes?

Solution

I'm assuming that this is a gaming build. If that's the case, an i5 is perfect. An i7 would be overkill and not worth it.

16GB of RAM is probably overkill, but it's up do you.

I recommend going with an EVGA 970. I've heard nothing but good things about EVGA, and a couple of horror stories from MSI, but I believe that was about the 770, not the 970.

Most importantly though, you should get a higher quality PSU. If you have plans of a future SLI, definitely get a 650 watt. I recommend this...
