New custom-built PC was given to me, now going through frequent crashes

Hi. I've been using this custom-built PC that was given to me as a gift, and have been having very few problems with it. However, recently it has been intermittently going into a blue screen saying stuff like "if this is the first time you are seeing this, it is okay. If you have seen this before, see support for your computer". At one of these occurrences, the computer went through a whole process with the system disk, as it said there were corrupted files on it. The computer came with no drivers installed on it, just a bunch of CDs and a copy of Windows 7 home premium. Right now, it can only get to the first screen, where it says "press f1 to continue, press DEL for setup". Now pressing either of these does nothing, and it seems that any keyboard I plug in is unresponsive. I feel like upon setting this computer up I did something wrong, as it has these frequent crashes even though the hardware in it is not cheap. Thanks to anyone who can lend support in this issue.

Solution
The bad thing about custom built is, what happens when the builder is no longer around.

I would (1)Back up data, (2)Re-install OS from scratch.

In lieu of (2) can always restore from a previous OS image backup, but since you are asking am guessing you don't have such thing.
