hp dc7900 graphics card help

i was on hp's website to find a graphics card for a dc7900 i downloaded a nvidia one it had a error it said on hp's website it is compatible but is not it had a error :??: so how do i fix this

Err, could you please make this clearer? You can't download a graphics card; they are physical objects.
Are you looking to purchase and install a graphics card, or are you looking for the correct driver for the graphics card you have?
If you can't answer in that detail, tell us what problem you are having and what you are trying to do to solve it. Thanks.

Hi there.

What type of video card did you install, or are you trying to install? What problem did you have? Was there a specific error message?

Also can you post a link to the page you are referring to saying that the card is compatible, so I can see what you are talking about.

Ok, the page you are linking to is for the drivers for the various nvidia cards in the original system configuration as sold. It does not mean it will work for every nvidia card. You did not answer my previous questions, about the card you are installing. What is the model for the card?

The DC7900 comes in about a dozen versions & variations, so they're not all the same. They come with 2.66ghz to 3.33 dual core processors made by Intel or AMD. They also come in 32 bit & 64 bit. None of the versions were originally shipped out with a graphics card in them. They had a graphics chipset insead, built into the motherboard that shares 128mb of RAM with the mobo. The chipset can be Nvidia or Intel, but more got made with an Intel graphics chipset.

So make sure you get the 32 or 64 bit version designed for your computer. Download the Intel driver if the Nvidia one won't work. But if your computer is 64 bit, the driver must be 64 bit too. If the computer is 32 bit, the drivers have to be 32 bit. However some 32 bit software will work on a 64 bit computer, but no 64 bit software will work on a 32 bit computer.
