I built a new pc from scratch and everything is working fine except the gpu.
The cable for the monitor is plugged in the gpu and everything is fine but when i go to the device manager the gpu listed is from my mobo - standard graphics adapter. I dont think its from the psu because i have 550w corsair with 40A on 12v that should be more than enough.
Could my gpu be dead, because i got it second hand or i havent done something i should have.

Solution
If you see things on the monitor then the gpu isn't dead. Seems like you don't have the proper/recent drivers. It should read something like "Radeon 5xxx series"

"The cable for the monitor is plugged in the gpu" he would see a black screen if the gpu was fried/not working.
