Minimum GPU Requirements For Modded Minecraft

I am about to buy a used PC and ad a gpu to it (I can already see you yelling at your screen), it will be cheaper than building a gaming PC. So, this is the PC I am going to get: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=361139490864&globalID=EBAY-US

I play Minecraft and I have never gotten to play heavily modded versions because I play on a laptop, so I need a gpu powerful enough to play modpacks such as the new FTB Horizons 2 that uses up the rest of my budget of $175 bucks. I would prefer BestBuy. Thx <3

This isnt answering your question but if you get a good graphics card, its gonna get very, very hot in that small case. I would highly suggest that you buy a full size case aswell, this will help with heat spreading. But its your choice. Also, Minecraft will run well on almost any new GPU but it is very CPU dependant. And that CPU in the PC you want to buy isnt very strong, so you probably wont be able to play it nicely. But for a GPU, i would suggest looking for a GT 740 or GTX 750. But i really recommend you just save up and get a PC with a better CPU

Just get a gtx 960 or.a 750 tj at 2gb,4gb for a 960 if your willing to spend 240$

A 750ti is the way to go, especially considering it's low power usage, and the fact that it's probably the only thing you can afford on best buy. If you were to use newegg, you could get a XFX R9 280 for $170, but a similar model on Best Buy showed up as around $250, which is outrageous.
