Very cheap PC build for Minecraft server

I need a very cheap (like $100-$200) PC to run Minecraft server. It will have only 2-3 players, and with pre-generated world. I already have a tested "No-Name" (R) Brand PSU and maybe working 250gb drive (I will buy a hard drive anyway, so include it's price). I have unused copy of Windows XP lying somewhere, so no OS price included. Of course, I have some "no-name" monitor.

I need only MoBo, CPU, HDD, RAM and PSU (I said that I have one, but I don't believe No-Name. Well, actually 2 of them.) and a GPU of course.

You could shave a few dollars off here and there, but I wouldn't recommend it. Oh, and though you didn't specifically mention it, you'll probably want a case, too. This one's about as cheap as it comes:

EDIT: Forgot to mention that you don't need a GPU to run a Minecraft server. Besides, the CPU has graphics built in.

I just checked AMD's website and it turns out the APU I suggested doesn't support Win XP. I wouldn't use XP in this day and age anyway, as security is a big issue for it. You could instead load a Linux distribution on there for free and get much more up-to-date features and performance. I like Lubuntu myself, as it's a lighter version of Ubuntu, the most popular Linux distribution to date IIRC.

Minecraft runs MUCH better on intel than AMD. I would get a Pentium for the server. Also, running a server on an SSD makes a HUGE difference.

I would avoid the cheap-o AMD CPUs like the 5350 for this.

I would not sacrifice the PSU for the SSD. What good is the server if it is fried? :lol: You can always add an SSD later if you get more players and migrate the server. That is what I did with the server I host.
