Corsair H100i stock fans too loud?

Hello, basic overview. I have the Corsair H100i w/ stock fans, Corsair Link (latest version) will not detect the H100i and never has, so I cannot configure the RPMs, and frankly I do not know how to do so otherwise. The fans are at 2,300 RPM with temps at 40 C on idle, and still outputs a loud whir. During gaming, this thing ramps up at full RPM essentially turning my room into a wind turbine. My question, is there ANY way to reduce the RPM and still have ideal idle and stressed temps? Or should I just go out and buy some Noctuas? My Define R4 has a built in fan controller w/ 3 voltage settings, should I use those? Really confused as to how to fix this. Thank you

yeah corsair link sucks... You could use the case fan controller but even better use you mobo fan connector(s). You should have at least CPU fan header with customizable speed curve and likely even 2 or more.

That is useless. You need to have both fans running at the same speed. Connecting them to a PWM based header like the CPU will differ in how it will respond as a case fan header. The CPU fan header is designed to be more aggressive while the case fans are not.

When working, CorsairLink is great. You can customize the fan speed, curve and monitor all kinds of information directly from the board itself.

Euhm i dont see the issue... you must love corsair link i suppose, but i dont and use different monitoring program (Aida64). All fans connected to mobo and speed curve set in bios (or AiSuite).

Depends on mobo but if its a decent one you can set CUSTOM fan curve on multiple fan headers (supporting both PWM and DC control). If you set the same on both they will run the same speed.

If the mobo only has custom fan curve on CPU header, you could put y-splitter to connect both fans to the same header. (Usually 1A max current on mobo will suffice for those 2 SP120L fans)
