I built a pc from spare parts lying around the house. It's mostly good. Has 8 gb of ram, an asrock motherboard, 8-core amd processor, ect... Not gonna get into the specifics. It turns on and works but I'm experiencing one problem. It makes a crackling noise, like, ALL THE TIME! The fans aren't too loud which makes the crackling even louder. I recorded the noise:

Starts around 6-7 secs.

Any idea what it's from? The only part that's eh is the hard drive. It's an old hard drive with <Topic not allowed in these forums Understood?> . Got it from a friend. Would that cause my comp make this noise?

Its sounds as if your bearings on your fans are going out or that you are getting some sort of weird interference. Is this sound coming from your speakers or headphones? you could have a loose cable or threading inside the cables. That would be easy to diagnose with jiggling the sound cables at the connector ends while playing music.

Let us know.
