So it just started doing this and I really have no clue why. I recently built this computer and its only 4 months old. Up until now it has been fine, but for the past week it randomly restarts itself. Any info you need to help me ill be more then glad to find it for you. Here are my specs.

OP: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-4790k @ 4.0 GHz
Cooler: Cooler MasterHyper 212 Evo
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 12GB DDR3
Power Supply: Corsair RM Series 750W
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270x 4gGB
SSD: PNY 240GB
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 400R

Cpu Temps: 30-40 idle 50-70 while gaming.

Update: just restarted itself while browsing the internet.

Your power supply is what we call a Tier 3 power supply. They use lower quality parts in those to help lower the price. And they fail pretty regularly.

Here is a link to the list. Search the list for the brand name (Corsair), each time it finds a match, look for the model (RM), until you find the brand, model, and capacity of the power supply you are looking for. Then scroll back UP, to find out which tier the power supply is listed under.

I would suggest only buying power supplies that are Tier 1 or Tier 2. My personal are Seasonic power supplies. You will notice that many companies sell power supplies made by Seasonic too. The company that makes the power supply is the last "entry" behind the other info on a given power supply in the list.

This is what you will see when you get to the correct section in the list. Items in Bold are what you want to focus on.

Corsair
CS Great Wall
CX / CXM Channel Well Technology
RM Channel Well Technology (450w - 650w, 1000w) / Chicony (750w)
VS Channel Well Technology

So that power supply being sold by Corsair is made by a company named Chicony. And again, if you scroll up the list to the section header, you will see which Tier it is under.

Whats a cheap one that you would recommend?

I dont know if you live next door to me, or on Pluto. Check with the places you buy your hardware, see what they have, then check against that list I linked. That's why I explained how to find something.

I prefer Seasonic. I think they are the best made power supplies on the planet. But there are a lot of good power supplies out there. Just look under the Tier 1 and Tier 2 sections, and you will probably recognize something there.

You could get a SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze 520W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Comes with a 5 year warranty and would be more than enough for your system.

if its during games, im guessing its your cpu overheating. Download amd overdrive and go to cpu status, then monitor your thermal margin (thermal margin is the temperature left your cpu has to operate) Thermal margin should be around 40 celcius on idle. and as you play games it should get smaller in celcius. Reply back with your idle thermal margin, btw what is your room/ambient temperature?
