My pc was a bit dusty so I cleaned my cpu cooler. after everything was clean and reinserted the pc didn't start up, it doesn't do anything actually. (mobo does get power and the cables are inserted in the right places). maybe my motherboard is dead?

pc specs:
Asus mATX Moederbord H61M-F
msi hd 7870 xt 2gb
8gb ddr3 1600mhz crucial
64gb ssd kingston
2tb green wetern digital
xfx 550w pro (1 year old)

Thanks

If the CPU had thermal paste or the heat sink, you may have to reapply it. I also agree you could've bent the CPU pin but most likely the heat sink just need to be securely in place. The computer wouldn't boot properly without that

Check if the CPU cooler is securely in place. All psu connectors you used before should be as well

I had this problem after cleaning my CPU cooler too and tightening the screws that hold it in place helped it start booting again

I screwed off the cpu cooler with the heatsink, screwed off the cooler of the heatsink and removed the dust with an air compressor. I put everything together (even reseated the cpu to be clear that everything was fine) and it doesn't do a thing if I press the power button (even tried activating the power jumper with a scrwdriver but that also didn't help).

so if the thermal cooling doesn't connect then the pc will not start at all? (not turning on?)

my motherboard cpu pin was bent (2 of them) well I think I need to buy a new mobo then (I can buy a good gigabyte with usb 3 for like 42 euros). Thx for reminding me to the pins (or I was still searching for the problem).
