A few years after finishing the game, I want to try it out on my new gaming PC. After installing it (and Games for Windows Live and Rockstar Social Club), I can't seem to activate it. Online activation fails, even though I'm connected to the internet and am allowing port 443 through the firewall.
When I try to manually activate it according to the guide on https://support.securom.com/rockstarunlock/GTA_IV/index.php?c=unlock, it says the activation is successful, but the window giving you the option to activate the game manually or online doesn't close. When I close this window and launch the game, it tries to activate online again, starting the process over.
What could be causing this and how can I fix this?
