Hi
I am looking to but a new rig as my current one is around 6 years old and getting a bit long in the tooth, i mainly use my pc for video/picture editing both dvd & HD inc Burning, my current set up really struggles with processing HD clips so i am looking for something that will carry out these tasks with ease.

i currently don't play that many games but plumbed for a fairly decent graphics card (i think?) so that if things change in the future ill be covered.

Also i have put down for windows 8.1 but to be honest i may well wait for windows 10 and have everything new (plus i dont like windows 8.1!)

My budget is between £1500 - £2000

Here is my current set up and below is my possible new one, please can you let me know if i have gone to far with anything or not far enough in some cases..

Many Thanks

Pete

Solution
Well. If they are only distributing Corsait Unit, check if they have CX series available. If they have, replace the CS or VS series with the CX series which is better.

Everything looks great. Its a pretty good selection of parts for an Editing rig. But that PSU should be changed. Corsair CS series is not so good because it uses low quality capacitors which may tend to fail on heavy workloads.

U can expect heavy workloads on the system for video editing. So better go with an 850-950 Watts PSU of better brand like Seasonic, Antec, EVGA or XFX.

I have very good experiences with Antec units. So I would suggest an Antec unit for you.

Antec HCG-850M 850W 13.5cm High Current Gamer Power Supply Unit is a good PSU.

Check it out.
