Hello everyone,

I am a computer noob building my first PC. On my PCPartPicker parts list, it says "Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs" under the Compatibility Notes. I have three questions.
1. Is it truly needed?
2. If so, does this mean that I have to choose a new motherboard?
3. If not, how do I go about installing this BIOS update?

CPU: AMD FX-8320
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+

Thanks!

Solution
No, you wont need to, it should have the latest bios when you buy it. you really only needed to update the bios 3 years ago when vishera cpu's replaced zambezzi cpu's.
