I would like some advice om building a gaming computer. In my build I would love to include a 980 and an 4790k for both gaming and editing. The problem is that I only have around $1250 to spend on the pc itself. I do not care for SSDs yet, but I do plan on getting one in the near future.

i7 4790k and GTX 980 G1 Gaming , plus the option to sli on this msi z97-gaming 5 mobo in future without changing anything in the build. You will definitely need an aftermarket cpu cooler to overclock the i7, and the Noctua NH-D14 will give you a lot of cooling headroom while being very silent.

For the case, the corsair 200r windowed case will allow your build to be displayed.

As requested an i7 4790K based build:

Parts changed are the CPU, aftermarket CPU cooler for overclocking and Z97 motherboard for overclocking. Also an excellent PSU for solid overclocking.
