DVI causing eye strain?

I recieved my Acer G257HU yesterday and after 4 hours of use my eyes began to strain a good deal, which never really occured while using my SyncMaster SA350. The thing is I used HDMI on the SyncMaster and I gave DVI a shot on the Acer. After switching to HDMI on the ACER today my eyes are feeling better without straining after a couple hours. Could my eyes just be sensitive to DVI? I haven't read anything about this issue.

Solution
HDMI and DVI carry the exact same video signal so there's no difference there. if anything, the screens are likely defaulting to different settings and the ones for HDMI are just more pleasing to your eyes. (my monitors save their calibration/presets according to the input source)

edit...
supposedly the Acer is an S-IPS display so it should be quite strain free once calibrated. your SyncMaster i believe is a TN panel.

edit edit...
i see your epileptic, it is possible that the SyncMaster has a non PWM back light while the Acer does. this can cause minor flickering in the displays and agitate those who are sensitive to flickering.

It's all about birghtness perhaps your new monitor is more bright, i have eye strain a lot lowering my brightness on all my screens changed my life. Also the things you are doing can cause more eye strain. For example when i play counter strike i get less eye fatigue than when i play sc2.

I figured this was due to 1) brightness 2) cs go is a pretty birght game its always "sunny" in sc2 its always dark i realized it hurts my eyes more.

The ambient light can also help. I hope this helps

Yes I play on much lower brightness than default settings, the Acer is really bright out of the box. But I didn't change the settings after I switched to HDMI so that is why I am just curious if there is a logical reason why DVI might cause more strain. Just a few things to add, I am mildly eplieptic, I can't game on TV screens at all because of this. But monitors are generally okay. This is the first time I have tried to use DVI with a monitor.

Thank you for this information it is quite valuable to me. I will see to the adjustments TFTCentral advises if problems emerge in the future.
