I am at a stand still with my plan to water cool my ASUS AMD 7950 Direct CU II Top graphics card. I have checked online all makesw, and the reference codes dont match. they are nothing like the codes that they are on the internet. e.g. 90 - C *****.

I understand I need reference design boards, but how do I go about purchasing a compatible card, even if it means a newer card, all these manufactures change the design and am I right thinking it is a gamble getting a board that will work.

Thanks in advance.

^Tend to agree, it's a very expensive way to cool such a old card.

Question: Is this a single loop for the GPU only or are you going liquid for the whole system?

That Direct CU II should be recording good temperatures and quiet fan speeds, if it's running hot maybe it's just time to give the cooler a good blow out and replace the thermal paste?

As alternatives:
Try the Kraken G10 bracket along with a suitable AIO liquid system, VRM and RAM coolers can be either sourced or made up and it'll almost certainly be cheaper than a custom loop just for the GPU.

Consider a alternative air cooler, I have a HD7950 with a Gelid Icy Vision on it, the Gelid fans have been replaced with the XFX PWM fans off the original XFX DD cooler (yep, the...

Given the cost of going liquid it may actually be cheaper to sell your HD7950 and upgrade the card.
