My Computer gets really hot!

I firstly want to apologize if this is 1 of many other hundred threads about people complaining about there computer getting really hot! I just wanted a quick/easy answer about my situation (which is probably the same as many others)

This afternoon whilst playing some battlefield, and also some fifa, I checked the fan before i switched the computer off. And it was HOT, like really hot, nearly burning and could only touch it for a few seconds. Not sure if its ever been this hot. Its down in a corner, but above it are windows, and nothing is covering it. Also its really, really hot in London/England at the moment so that's also why the computer is hot.

The point I am trying to make is, I probably have a crap fan, so what is a good fan to buy? possible £50 above from amazon? Do i get a water-cooling fan as It is better? Also is it easy to install? (i could probably find videos of that). Having downloaded a software (Real-temp) to check my computer temperature, it is around 50-53, if thats any good? But it feels really hot! I will add a pic of the results of the cooling temperature (not sure what the temperature is for, CPU, graphics card? whole system?
QBgtOlo
should work!

P.S If you require any other information, feel free to ask, Thanks!

Sounds like you have two fans... one on top and the other in front. Are there any holes at the rear of the case to install a fan at the rear of the case... you could have that one blowing air out of your case.

It's also probably not a good idea to try replacing the CPU fan since this is all new to you. It could be done... My first time went without any problems.. but it sounds like you would be better off with just installing more case fans.. perhaps one or two more. You also need to check if your motherboard has any spare pins for fan connections... otherwise you would have to have the fans plugged directly into your PSU and they would spin at 100% all the time and be really noisy.
What case, and graphics card are you using?
What cpu cooler are you using(I think you call it a fan)

Your temperatures are not overly hot if under load.
They are for each of the 4 3470 cores.
The tjmax is the point where it will shut down, that is near 100c.

I would expect that at idle, your temperatures should be about 15c. over ambient if your cooler is installed properly.

If you do want an aftermarket cpu cooler, I suggest a simple tower type cooler with a 120mm fan. If nothing else, it will be quieter.
Noctua makes some very good ones that are easy to install, £50 should buy you one.

Thanks for the reply. The link does not look like the most reliable to use and download! If there are other reviews/opinions of it by other people ill use that.

Thanks,

1)This is the link to the computer that I have so I think that should answer for what case I have? http://www.reevoo.com/p/cyberpower-gaming-squadron-elite
2) The graphics card I have is the 'msi gtx 760'
3) I have an 'Intel' fan. Thats all I can find out about it atm/from what i can see from the outside. It doesnt really say what fan i have in the link describing the computers components, so if i open it up later I can see if there is a name or something.

Hopefully I have answered everything correctly. Also to add on, just from watching a youtube video, the temp from the link i sent you (which shows the overall temp of the whole computer?) went up to 60/70! Even from the Noctua website, it does not look very reliable, however the fans look good i guess?

Well I am not too sure. All i know is that my computer became really hot and I just presumed that I need to bet a more powerful fan? Wether it be a watercooling fan or a normal fan, (by which I mean one which was the motors/blades showing). Apologies if I havent explained myself well enough and am a noob in this area for computer components!

Apologies for not replying to your question. I have 1 fan which, having looked online, looks like a case fan. The fan is sitting/connected on the CPU. I have space ontop of the fan..if that makes sense. Little space width wise, but lots length!

you have the cpu cooler fan that is a intel and from link they have a front fan ,you could get a after market cooler for the cpu and check to add a back fan as exhaust since the front fan take fresh air in but nothing to take hot air out .

Another thing is to make sure you have good or OK cable management. Make sure you don't have stuff blocking air flow.

Ok I gave my computer a basic clean, wiping away any excess dust with a tissue. And using a cotton bud to get LOTS of dust out from the fan attached to my CPU, and also some from the blades on the graphics card. Having tried playing bf3 again, the temperature is around 100mark which still sucks. Looks like i will have to definately get a new fan. When you asked me if there is any space for more fans, I am uploading an imgur link of my computer from nearly all the sides.

Just to add on something else. I have the Intel® Core™ i5-3470 CPU (3.2GHZ). I am reading on the internet that the average temperature is around 60 'whilst on full load'. And other quotes such as "Playing at max you should be about 65-70 celcius not more", and "The the absolute max temperature for the Intel Core i5 mobile processor is 105°C.". Right now it is roughly around the 50 mark (dropping slightly below and above 50 sometimes) When I play its around 100 celcius which is ridiculous! Ime really worried that it will break/shut down and that i should not play any games at all until i decide what fan i should get!

OK... I just looked at your photos... I was right. You DO NEED some case fans. Replacing the CPU cooler won't do you any good.. you need some Case Fans, my friend. I noticed you have empty fan spots at the REAR of the case and at the BOTTOM. I am unable to tell about the front, though.

Do you already have a fan in front of your hard drive? If not, that should be the first fan you install. You definitely need to install a fan at the rear of your case.. and have that one blowing hot air out of your case.

I will show you a diagram (sort of) of how you can set it up.. There are many different combinations for fan placements... so don't be scared into thinking what someone tells you is the best or only way.. I have three large fans that came with my case. One on the top of the case... One in the front... and one in the rear.

Ok I have checked the front of my computer and there does seem to be a fan in front of my hard-drive. Here are some images of it, and what space there is, (i presume i dont need any more fans there as there is one there already) http://imgur.com/DZRiliT,IIgAK2v,QJRbErh .

What make of fans do i get? The ones you name in the image link you sent me? Prices show there roughly £20, such as the SP120 "Corsair CO-9050006-WW Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition 120mm Low Noise High Pressure Fan Dual Pack", and also the AF140 "Corsair CO-9050009-WW Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 140mm Low Noise High Airflow Fan Single Pack".

Also I need to know if I should stop playing games as the temp gets to around 100 celcius. And idle is around 50-60 which is ok i guess? Could be dangerous around 100.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. I have checked the fans with the link you sent me, but I cannot find the prices. Also, what SBMfromLA is slightly different and seems better IMO? The diagram image he sent me tells me to buy 5 'SP 120 quiet editions' and 1 'AF140 quiet editions'. Furthermore, as I have seen those models, as mentioned in another message, on Amazon, I would rather get them from Amazon as its a reliable website and have bought from there many times.

As for the glue, I have read up on it a little, but looks strange to use. What would I use it for? Also as the for cans of compresssed air, I have found the '5 Star Air Duster Can HFC Free Compressed Gas Flammable 400ml' from Amazon which I will probably buy. But how long do these cans last for? And can I clean in tight spaces in my computer?

Ok another BIG update I have. My brothers friend came round and checked my computer with the fans etc. Apparently the fan I have attatched to my CPU was "voted the worst intel fan ever", which is great! So he kindly did some research for me as to what fans I should buy from amazon. By looking at where I can fit them and how many I could have with my computer case, I will be buying 1"Noctua NF-F12PWM Case Fan 120 mm " (for the cold air), 1 "
Corsair CO-9050009-WW Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 140mm Low Noise High Airflow Fan Single Pack " (for the hot air), one "Noctua NH-U14S - NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with NF-A15 Fan " that will replace the crap intel one I have sitting ontop of my CPU.

He also said, with with all these new fans I will be getting, my 500 watt power supply COULD handle it all, but it would be more comfortable with a better powersupply. So I will also be buying a "Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU".

Could I just run it with you guys, that these are good ones to buy? From amazon I am getting them

Thanks!

What do you mean "check if you case could handle them"? Silly question but how would I check if they fit?
