I just upgraded from gtx 980 ACX 2.0 to gtx 980 ti and after around 15 seconds of gameplay on witcher 3 (everything on ultra settings) i noticed my gpu was 81 degrees celsius and seemed to be climbing... What is going on? Do i need to get a cooler for my gpu? I have 5 case fans and a swiftech h240x. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Max GPU temp for the GTX 980Ti, according to the GeForce Specification, is 92C.

Your card will continue to operate at normal speeds until it approaches this thermal threshold. The fans will increase in speed to prevent the card from operating above that temp and if the fans aren't enough, the GPU will also begin to down-clock itself into manageable thermals (88C-91C) or until the fans are able to regain control of the temperature climb.

Ideally, you want to avoid the card down-clocking itself as you will very likely see effects of that in gaming. It could look like a freeze, stutter, chop or lag. You lose FPS every time it happens.
