Can I simply transfer my HDD to my new computer build, or will there be issues?

I'm planning to upgrade my system soon but I want to use my current hard drive that has Windows 10 installed and all my programs included. I have an ASUS motherboard and I plan to replace it with an MSI motherboard. I'm also replacing my GTX 780 for a GTX 970 SLI configuration. Would there be any interferences or problems by removing the HDD from my old machine and just connecting it onto my new build as the one and only storage drive? As for the new motherboard driver, can I easily install it or is there a whole procedure?

Update: Both motherboards are LGA 1150 (intel) and I'm just going to transfer my current CPU onto the new mobo.

Solution
You are best to clean everything off the drive, format it, and re-install everything. It will definitely work if you do that. If you don't, there is a good chance it will work, but the conflicting drivers and other issues will likely cause program and probably system instability.
