Not sure if this is the correct subforum to post this but I built my very first system 2 weeks ago and I want to transfer files from my mac laptop to my windows 8 desktop.

I'm transferring over LAN using an ethernet cable. Will doing this count as bandwidth? I have a limit of 320GB per month but movies, music, work files will exceed this.

Solution
Copying files over LAN(local area network) will not count towards any bandwidth caps(ISP) because the data will not leave your local network.

Sure hope your hardware(computers and switch or router) is all gigabit ready for the best speeds.
