Is this $1000 gaming pc any good?

Solution
He's looking at the looks too with the window and white case so i understand the motherboard choice.

You could go with cheaper psu's like the next,

I also would keep the cooler. An ssd would be nice, you could get it in when going for a r9 290.It will still only be a 120gb one, good for just windows+apps and maybe one or two most liked games.

going with the 4460 would a bigger ssd probably fit the build.

you could loose the cooler for now if you realy wan it it to below $1000.

I was actually thinking of not getting a mechanical HDD until I already built it but I'm not quite sure. Also, could I keep my awesome MB and just get a 4960k?Cause I like the SLI Krait. And plus Isn't Z97 the most flexible and overall best LGA1150 platform? Or should I go with a cheaper Chipset.... :'(

1. see z97 and h97 are the CHIPSET there is nothing like z97 is best. the difference between both chipset is that z97 allows overclocking.
2. you cannt use i7 4960x with this mobo because 4960x works on 2011 socket. and your mobo is lga 1150 socket. i think you mean i5 4690k there
3. you can use i5 4690k with any chipset of lga 1150 ie h81, b85, h87, z87, h97, z97 etc. but if you use h81,91 chipset then its like putting a lamborghini engine in Prius. means the will work but not at its full potential.
4. so thing is if you are getting a 4690k cpu then you must get a z87 or z97 chipset motherboard otherwise you are not using your cpu at its full potential.
5. if you are not planning to overclock than get a non k ( simply 4690) cpu and h97 or h97 chipset.
6 one more thing h97 and h87 are same z97 and z87 are same but h97 and z97 (9 series) they are haswell refresh chipset so as the 4690 and 4690k so the cpu is supported. but if you get 8 seriese( z87, h87) then you -may- need to upgrade bios.

since your mobo is z97 it will support any haswell cpu out of the box. so you are good to go with any of the them i5 4690k or 4690.
