Raw speed isn't the biggest factor here when it comes how well your CPU performs.
CPU's from almost 10 years ago were capable of hitting about 3.0Ghz, does not mean they are still capable of modern games.

As others have said the speed of the processor is unimportant we need to know what processor you are talking about not the speed.
