Hi everyone, I have a 1TB Silicon Power external disk. Yesterday it suddenly stopped working. Now the device manager shows it, but disk management and my computer don't. I tried reinstalling it and testing it other computers, but nothing. Any idea how I can fix it?

Hey pdpax. In Disk Management, look in the lower right pane. It scrolls so you can see all the valid hardware storage devices, even the ones Windows cannot see and use yet. If your HDD shows in device manager, it should also show up in this lower right pane.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I couldn't find anything. Here's a screenshot of both disk management and device manager. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it was only uninstalled, and the reinstall failed. Before uninstalling, the device manager read something like "Silicon Power," but now it only reads "Disk drive". Devices and Printers shows the icon though.

Sometimes if I'm lucky, it'll show up in disk management, but it's unknown and not initialized, and when I try to initialize it, (which I would hate to do that as I have tons of important data on it, but I hope I can recover them using recovery tools), it says the device is not ready.

When I tried to run ZAR 8.3 also it shows the device but it shows 0 capacity and wouldn't function.
