I'm building a lab in my university and I will buy/built a workstation to run COMSOL Multiphysics with Heat Transfer Module and some electrical modelling simulations. I have a low bugdet right now so I should decide really carefully about my system components. I have a question about this case:

What is the importance of graphics card to run COMSOL Heat Transfer Simulations? Do I need an advanced card such as nVidia Quadro series or a medium level standard card would be enough for my requirements?

Thank you for your help

It doesn't look like COMSOL will use a GPU for performance improvement. So what ever will support your display requirements will be OK. More cores and more RAM look like they are more important. The size of the model you are running will impact how much RAM you need. The number of CPU cores and clock speed will impact the time to run the simulation.
