I've recently done nothing to my homebuilt PC master race rig ! other than change a stupid flash drive to NFTS because its been transferring files SO slowly from SSD ---> Flash drive...

Ok, i did one other thing... I installed rainmeter, the desktop customization tool that's popular...

now all of the sudden , if i don't move my mouse for about 10 seconds or so, the screen will go black, and when I move the mouse, it's as if the computer wasn't asleep, rather , just the screen went black and will immediately dissapear upon mouse movement.

This is weird...all my power plan settings have not been changed

I just did this fix...will see if it's fixed

There are 3 ways that a display could go blank while the CPU is still running.(self experience)
>>> 1st Way: Screen saver:
Change Screen Saver Settings

1. Right click on the desktop, then click Personalize.
2. Click Screen Saver on the bottom of the Personalization window.
3. change it to “NONE” or increase the waiting time(your call.)

I would disconnect the flash drive to see if it has any effect. If you are using an Asus motherboard, press Alt/Cntrl/Delete to see if dipawaymode.exe is running, if if is cancel it. Uninstall rainmaker.

1. Flash drive reformatted as NTFS
2. Installed Rainmeter

Problem - sometimes black screen

I'm guessing the problem has nothing to do with the flash drive, and everything to do with Rainmeter.

Take the flash drive out. Does the issue still happen?
