Will this XFX AMD Radeon R9 280X Handle today's games?

Thinking about buying XFX AMD Radeon R9 280X

http://

seems to be just a bit less then a Gefore GTX 970.

Will it handle today's games at 1080p?? Just for reference my processor is a i5 3470

I run an R9 280 which is a bit slower and has no problems at 1080P and my processor is probably slower than yours.

The particular ad you posted something seems off to me, says used for a couple months, in the pics the plastic wrapping is still on the card. And the seller has 18 of them. I feel like they may have been used for bitcoin mining which means it was run really hard for a long time.

THis one is the same price, is the black edition so its factory overclocked and uses higher grade chips, I would get this instead:
