I want to get an m.2 ssd for my operating system specifically. I have another ssd (sata 6gb/s) which I'll use for my important programs and an hdd for everything else. But when looking into m.2 ssd's I noticed there is a B and an M size or something like that. Are they all the same physically (in other words, will they all fit into the same slot?)

My mobo is a msi z97s sli krait.

Another question. If I just want to use the m.2 for my OS only, what size should I get?

Thanks, I'll look through it again to try and find the info I need. Just wondering, why would I need so much space for the OS?

paul NZ is right, I ended up getting a 128gb drive and that drive filled up very quickly once I realized how much faster it was and wanted more than just my OS on that drive. in this case I say go big or go home haha at least 256
