i have a 250gb ssd that has become full within 6 months and all that is on it is the OS, any ideas what might be on it to fill

I store all of my stuff on another hdd so why is the ssd so full, cant see anything obvious as to where all the data is
 
Solution
Check this.

Go to C: drive (Your SSD) then open windows folder. Find winsxs (one of the last folders in the list) Right click on that and go to properties. See how big it is. Shouldn't be bigger than 10-20Gb. If it is HUGE like move than 30 then that can be your issue.

DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING OUT OF THIS FOLDER!

If that is small then just keep going around. Starting right on the C Drive and right click each folder and see how big they are. Then the bigger ones just go in and do the same until you find the issue.

you should just have other stuff on there that could be filling it up. Programs or something adding files to the temp folder as well. Maybe do a disk clean up on it.

You can try adjusting the System Restore options of your system. Reduce the space allocated for that and delete previous restore points.
