I want to upgrade my SSD which currently contains my operating system, and that's about all it has on it, its a small SSD back from the days when SSDs were expensive.

Anyways I want to move all the data so that its intact, including the operating system, to a new and larger SSD.

Ive been reading around using good old google on how to do this and it seems I need some kind of disk migration or cloning software. Theres ALOT of options out there and alot of them seem like there over complicated and for more professional use. I just want to move data from Drive A to Drive B with no errors to replace Drive A, My computer has ample HDD bays and slots on the MoBo so this can be done while the computer is running ( if possible )

Are there any recommendations for cloning software, preferably free or low cost. ?
Or any step by step guides to help for a more simple approach ?

Just from what ive been looking at seems overly complicated using expensive software.

Solution
Right. A 'too small' SSD is beyond annoying.

To proceed:
Migrate to the new, larger, SSD.
Verify it all works properly.
Wait for the Win 10 Upgrade.
After it is upgraded, you can obtain the ISO file and redo it as a clean install if you wish.

Acronis Trueimage, Macrium Reflect, Easus Todo, Casper. All pretty easy. Casper is $$, but has a 30 day trial.

Since your new drive is going to be larger than the old, you should probably have no problems.
Install the software, plug both drives in, and click the relevant buttons.

I generally recommend a clean install though.

Thanks for the software suggestions

as to the clean install one of the reasons i'm upgrading is for the upcoming windows 10, If windows 10 is approx 6gb larger than windows 7... which is a likely possibility , my SSD will no longer fit it. That and just the constant disk management is annoying, no matter how diligent you are programs love to default and store stuff on the C drive and little bits of save files or anything always end up on the C drive and when i'm dealing with maybe 10gb of "extra" space its annoying.

So if I were to upgrade the drive and shortly after install windows 10 that in effect is a clean install I suppose I don't know the update process of windows 10.
