I'm a first time builder who has ran into what I'm assuming is a hardware issue at this point.
Any time I try to run a game on my new computer my screen blacks out within 10 seconds of completing a starting cut scene and all of my peripherals restart. I then am forced into a hard reboot. (which on a new computer is really bumming me out) Like stated above, I'm a first time builder... having said that I'm pretty sure everything was installed properly in terms of hardware and I'm near positive I have all updated drivers.
Specs:
OS - Windows 8.1 64bit
GPU - Asus Strix GTX 980
CPU - Intel i7 4790 3.60 GHz w/ Coolermasters 212Evo Cooler
MOBO - GIGABYTE Ultra Durable GA-Z97X-UD5H
RAM - 8GB (x2 4GB)
PSU - EVGA 750w
SSD - Samsung Pro 270g (Boot)
HDD - WD Black 1TB
I tried to run Furmark at 1080 and it crashed the same as the games do. I mention 1080 because my monitor is 4k and I've been attempting to run games at 4k res (reverted to 1080 with same results). My GPU sits at a desktop temp of 42 degrees. (I don't know what the norm should be)
Hopefully I can get some help, and maybe get some answers for someone who's in a similar predicament at the same time!
Thanks
