Ok I just installed a brand new MSI A88xm-e45 v2 and I also install the drivers that came with it. I plugged my etherent cord into my router and modem to see if it worked and the both didnt. My Ethernet port doesn't light up on my PC either when its plugged in. Could it be that the port is disabled in the bios? Is so how would I enable that ? Also everything is plugged up where it should be. And if it isn't the bios disabled it what could it be ?

Update my green led light comes on in the back while in the bios but not when I proceed into my actual PC and my case has built in standoffs already

Yes it could be that the default factory settings of the bios of the A88xm-e45 motherboard it is disabled.
On power up of the system you need to repeatedly tap the key that corresponds to entering the bios via your keyboard.
This can be the.
F1 key
F2 Key

Delete Key.

F10 key to F12 Key, on the keyboard.

Set the option in the bios for the Ethernet adapter to enabled, and save the settings in the bios before you exit it.

If you find the option in the bios is already set to enabled, then it may be a case that.
A: the cable you are using has a broken twisted pair of wires used causing the Lights on the Ethernet of the motherboard not to light up, try another cable if you have one.
B: One of the ends of the Cable with an RJ45 connection is not fully seated in the motherboard socket of the motherboard , or the router device used.
Check both ends are fully seated in there Sockets.

Or in windows you have not setup a new network connection first, for you default home network ect.
The option to do so can be done in windows via the control panel, and network and sharing options if so.
