Hi all,

I've red a ton of posts here, mostly simmilar to my problem, never found a solution that would work though. Here's the deal:

CPU FX-8350
GPU MSI R9 270x 4GB Gaming LE
MoBo Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P (rev 2.0)
PSU Corsair VS 650W CP-9020098-EU

Timeline:

- swapped all the above pieces in my PC from my old ones (phenom x4, older gigabyte mobo, 500w supply, HIS Radeon 5770) and everything worked out very well indeed. Unfortunately my case was on a temporary basis (too short, too small, too old) so I bought a new case and moved everything to a bigger case with better cooling and room in the back for cable management. After that everything went down the drain - Windows 8.1 booting, logo showing and black screen (but not "no signal", just lighter black than when it's powered off). I uninstalled the drivers in safe mode, cleaned what I could, rebooted... system went up fine on windows graphic drivers. Downloaded new AMD drivers aaaand... while the screen flickers during the install pc also makes a "new device" sound. First one goes good, but second one lags out, changes into a 1sec dubstep hit and there goes black screen again.

I tried many solutions, nothing working. Pulled out my old GPU and switched in back on, installed the drivers while on the old card and it worked. BUT! Switching back to new GPU gives me black screen again.

The twist is I can't even enter safe mode now to uninstall the drivers.

I would say as it all worked before I can rule out faulty hardware.
I'm wondering if I should just make a clean install of Windows and see if that helps

Uninstall the amd drivers. Reboot windows (since you would have a display now)
Download the auto detect tool from amd and/or manually locate the drivers from here (try it if you haven't yet)

I could before I did what you suggested in last post. After I swapped GPU to old one and installed drivers like that I can't boot into safe mode at all...

Since the drivers have been installed for the new gpu, check if it is getting enough power. By that I mean with the extra pci slots that are on gpu (check the documentation if it needs to have those connected)

Apologies for what happened last time. But, since you already have the drivers installed into your system for the new gpu, the gpu just needs to power on

RMA or call the company for the gpu and see if they could assist you with it if no other solutions are found here

GPU powers on, I need 2 6-pins for it and they are both sitting tight. The card also starts with no problem. ie - fans spin etc. Also power shortage is irrelevant with my old GPU that ran on 500W PSU and only needs 1 6-pin. And it also ran well before installing drivers. So I still suspect driver issue and not hardware

Apparently it is a problem with the card. I mounted it in another PC that never sam any AMD stuff. With more powerful PSU etc. Drivers installed normally, but after reboot it greeted me with black screen, so the same issue. So I manged to disqualify Motherboard, PSU and software problems all at once. Only thing left is the card itself.
