missing boot.ini in windows 7

Hello,
I have one hard disk which used previously recently when i tried to connect that hard disk telling error missing boot.ini file to load the system. please suggest me how to start that hard disk

Sounds like the HDD or SSD has failed, check they show up in the BIOS, you can get to the BIOS by repeatedly tapping the "DEL" key.

Check the OS HDD/SSD shows up, if not, check the cables, if all fine, possible dead drive.

SSD's purchased pre 2011 would last 4-6 years if you're lucky.

thanks for your replay then i checked the error, So the error is as follows
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt <Windows root>\system32\hal.dll>
please re-install a coy of the above file."

Please guide me to resolve the problem.
