Whenever I edit photos in photoshop, the image will always look darker when viewed with the default Windows Photo Viewer. I've looked around and found out that it is caused by color profiles but very little explanation was given. I'm totally clueless when it comes to this so if anyone could offer further explanation, I'd be really grateful.

I've also read that using a 3rd party photo viewer would help. Does anyone have any recommendation? Since I already have Bridge, I just need a program similar to the default windows photo viewer - just zoom and pan would suffice.

Thanks in advance :)

U already explained to yourself, it's caused by color profile. I don't know if you remember when you first installed PS, the first time you ran it, it asked you, Do you Want to Calibrate, Configure blah-blah, and you probably not understanding what it's asking of you, just clicked, Not At This Time. There.

That's what professional photographers do. Before they commence work they wanna make sure the stuff they make on their screen will come out the same on users' screens.
