Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card (2-Way SLI) $699.95 B&H

Case:

Hmm...I would say just build it now. It will take much longer before the new Intel Skylake comes up with the top end stuff. The first cpus are just some "cheap" (as cheap as Intel can get) basic ones.

So building X99 system right now is definitely better.
Then upgrade to Skylake Refresh somewhere around mid 2016- mid 2017.

But the question is: will you be doing something for which you would need something like X99 system?
1440p - 4K video editing? Rendering, coding, encoding? etc. etc.

well at the moment im doing a lot of programming an server integration work with some video editing ive been stealing my work msi laptop for this atm but i also like to pay online rpgs and stuff like that an would also like use it for heavy video encoding/ streaming will the skylane refresh work on the 2011-3 socket? also i would most likely only do a 2 way sli build dont see any reason in going more than 2 cards

Doesn't look like it. From what I'm seeing, Skylake requires a new CPU Socket LGA1151. If that's the route you're looking to go, then we'll have to wait until the new components are released so we can see what the prices ranges are. However, I seriously doubt you'll need anywhere close to $5K. I'd be willing to guess closer to $3500.

Wild Guess-timates here:

Processor: $600
Motherboard: $250
DDR4 RAM: $250
SSD: $100
HDD: $75
Graphics: $2000
Case: $75
Power Supply: $125
OS: $100

The RAM, case, cooler and Motherboard can be changed as feels good.
I just chose what were familiar to me.
