Well then yes. But since you said "I am specifically going to be playing minecraft that's it" there is no reason for this hardware. If you're going to play anything then yes, there is a reason to get it. But i would still recommend going for a good i5 instead of the i7 and maybe upgrade your GPU to a 970 if you want good framerated throughout all games.

Upgrade the gpu if you plan on playing something else more demanding

If you plan on just playing mc and some other not so demanding games then it should be fine.

If you currently own it then keep it. But if you are planning on buying it then go for something cheaper like a i5 and invest more money in the gpu

If you're ONLY playing Minecraft than this PC is a bit overkill. Keep the GPU it's fine but drop the CPU to some i5 and you dont need a third party cooler for your CPU. You wont need any overclock on the best gaming i7 for Minecraft.
Will probably safe you a few hundred bucks.

but the thing is id eventually get bored of playing minecraft at some point. so id rather spend big now on a really overkill pc and eventually later when playing cod and battlefield id have the fps to be happy, don't you think so aswell???
