I have an HP m8100n PC (bought in 2008). I want to put in a GTX 570 GPU with a new Corsair 750W power supply.

The Corsair 24 pin MB connector has extra plastic for connecting 20 pin with 4 pin. The connector on my MB is too narrow to accommodate that extra material.

Is the power supply compatible with this motherboard? HP web list it as MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2)

What's the Corsair PSU model?

What do you mean that the connector on the motherboard is too narrow to accommodate the extra material?

Where's this extra material you're talking about?

I believe what you are describing is a flange to allow the 4 pin to lock into the 20 pin part, it is some what common on many PSU's. I will suggest contacting Corsair before committing to this course of action to ensure it will not affect warranty (IMO, it shouldn't but I'm not Corsair)... the flange can be carefully trimmed down (or off) with an E-xacto knife.
