Get the i5-4690k, best value for the money and an I7 is like an 20% increase in price for (That i7) like a 5% increase in performance. I would also recommend not getting the bare minimum on the PSU. 500W (which i have no doubt you know) Is the bare minimum for the 970, and you're always supposed to go 10-25% above what you think you'll need. Your computer will probably never draw 500 watts, but it's just to be safe.
