Can someone tell me why my Download speed went from (roughly) 30 to 2.48Mbps in the matter of a month?

I am so sorry if this is in the wrong section or i am not asking properly, i hadn't had a full nights sleep and im frustrated. so please excuse me, i'm gonna try to explain my problem the best i can.

we've had a few storms that made our power flash, but i don't think thats the problem.
My PC uses the 'TP-Link TL-WDN4800' as its primary Wireless Network Adapter (and that made its internet connection so much better). but is now only giving me around a 2 for its general speed and its affecting the overall experience i'm having with games.

I ran the speed test on my laptop (connected to the same network) and got a 21.87 Download speed, and a 6.01 Upload speed.

What could the problem be?
if it does help, my PC needs a new CPU Fan b/c i just learned my CPU was rocking around 90*C

i will be checking back to this topic throughout the day, plz dont lev me (>;_;)>

noo I won't lev you brudda (<;_;<).Try contacting your internet provider and explaining the problem.I have the feeling that you are shouting right about now.Try rebboting your router and updating it's firmware. The general servers might just be having a hard time keeping up with the traffic.Try testing your ping with this:
http://www.pingtest.net/
If the results are bad ex. 50-100 ping then DEfiNETLY call your ISP and call asistance.Or change out your provider.

and ISP (i'm assuming stands for something close to Internet Service Provider), if i call them how can they help me with just the one PC? everything else works fine, what would i say?

WOW That is a BAD BAD connection. It's like getting an -F in an exam. The signal takes 500ms or 5 secounds to reach their servers and there's alot of static in the connection. If you are going to call them ask if there is anything they are up to.And why is your connection so bad, they may tell you that there like maintanance happening and the speed will be down for a while. They can surely do something for you ike changing your plan changing your rounter or something at least , because remember! You are the CUSTOMER and you PAY them and THEY have to give you good speed and they have to SATISFY you otherwise you WILL leave them and you will STOP paying them.Tell them that if they don't do something about your connection you are going to leave them.Because it's not worth spending like 50-100 dollars for 2 Mbps that's ridiciculous.

Do i tell them that its just the one PC that its affecting? If so how do you think they'll fix it? Surely they cant control how much power (internet strength) is divided amongst my pc and laptop

Well do a couple of speed test on other devices too, like laptops and smartphones ect. if it's the same for all.Is the Ethernet cable directly connected to your PC? If it isn't connect it and retry.Well tleast they can explain why are you having such bad speeds, I mean they are responsible for your experiance.

The modem is the thing that takes the internet form the provider and llows you to redirect it to other places in the room. How old it it? If it's more than 3-4 years old then a an upgrade will probably fix it.
