How to make an SSD not the 'standard' drive?

I built my brother a computer and included an SSD as the boot drive. When I built it I installed the SSD (around 120GB) first and by itself, then installed windows and everything else, once it was working I installed the HDD (about 2TB). My problem now is that the SSD is considered the C: drive and almost everything installs on that instead of the HDD, and the SSD is full now. Is there a way I can make the HDD the C: drive or the standard dive while keeping the SSD as the boot drive and keeping room for a few games/programs on there? Would it be simpler to just back up his files and 'start over' having both the SSD and HDD installed, and just have the SSD as the boot?

When you install stuff, you jsut have to tell it to install to the D drive instead of the C, then the SSD wont get filled up. You can also change the location of the documents, pictures, music folders to the D drive as well. It's always going to try to default install to the same drive as windows, unless when installing, you change it.

Started doing the things like moving his pictures and game saves to the HDD (E: for some reason), as well as uninstalling and reinstalling things onto the E: drive. The main problem I'm having right now is he wants to install Nexus Mod Manger on his pc, it requires NET 4.something or other and there's not enough space on the SSD to install that. I'm a novice when it comes to programs, any guides you could link me to to see what's 'safe' to move off of the SSD?
