Hi all,

I have been researching this and tinkering with this for days....and nothing good came of it! Lol

So I'm trying to make a good situation out of a crappy one - my whole building is outfitted with wireless and I am trying to make my own wired network.

Settings of the wireless connection to me
Gateway: 10.3.86.1
DNS: 3 different servers

I have a Dlink DAP1522 wireless bridge.
I have connected to the SSID of the wireless network.
Bridge settings:
Static IP: 10.3.90.1
Gateway 10.3.86.1

I then have a WRT54GS with DDWRT on it.
When I plug the LAN from the bridge to a LAN on the router - it works...but I cannot create my own network.
When I plug the LAN from the bridge to the WAN on the router, I configure with these settings (and doesn't work):

WAN static: 10.3.90.2
WAN gateway: 10.3.90.1
Router IP: 10.3.91.1
Router gateway: 10.3.90.1

I'm no sure what to put in the DNS boxes anywhere. Should I keep repeating the DNS serves from the initial appartment wireless connection (above)?

I've also tried permutations of WAN gateway 86.1 and Router gateway of 86.1

Any help on what the correct settings should be would be very appreciated. I'm really at my wit's end......

Thanks so much!!

Hold on... so your already receiving a broadcasted SSID, so there is a DHCP server already on the network, so you cannot just plug into the Wan port of your router and communicate without configuring the router as an AP and disabling DHCP.

Disabling DHCP on the linksys should fix your problem.
