Is my pci slot broken

Ok so i need to know if my pci slot is broken or my gpu. I dont have a spare gpu or pci slot. When i go into device manager in control panel it says pci bus and more stuff so is this a good sign showing my pci slot is working. IT doesent detect the graphics card tho. Please reply i need a wuick answer

are you trying to install a new gpu? you may have to 'flick a switch' in the BIOS to make the pc display through the pci-e gpu instead of the onboard graphics.
press F2 or del key when starting to get into the BIOS, it may tell you which key on the screen at startup, check the manual if not.

Thx for ur reply. Its not a new gpu and it used to work fine b4. And my mobo automatically detects a gfx and changes thr output so i dont need to go into bios or anything like that. I havent changed anything

ah. without other hardware to test it against, it will be difficult to say which is faulty.
have you a friend who will let you try your gpu in their system? if that works in that, it's your motherboard.
or a local computer store may be able to test your hardware for a small fee.

thx again. If this helps tho my device manager shows a few devices called pci bus and pci...etc

Is this a good sign
